About My Blog…

ban·ter ban-tər\ :

To speak to or address in a witty and teasing manner

To speak or act playfully or wittily

Thanks for stopping by to read.  I hope you’ll come back after reading a post or two and add your own wisdom, comments, tips, inspirations and whatever else you’d like (with the exception of mean comments) — no room for that here.  Seriously, please don’t.  There’s so many other platforms for one to spew negative vibes.  This isn’t one of them.

This is a place for exchanging ideas in a lively and respectful way.

Share your good news.  Comment on what you see/read here.  Spread the word and I’ll do the same for you.  What are you reading?  What are ways in which you summon up your muse when you just don’t think you can do it any more?

This began as a writing blog but has evolved as….a place for like-minded people, including writers, to get together, relax and feel comfortable.

This isn’t a place for fighting about politics, religion, spreading celebrity gossip or any of that other kind of stuff.  And, no it’s not going to be all unicorns and rainbows either.  Please — speak your mind — just do it with respect, insight and intelligence.

We’re adults.  We write and we’re nice people.  I think you get the gist.

  3. Hi Brigitte,
Just one question, how on earth your blog have so many responses and comments? Me, on the other side, is almost zero.
Please share your wisdom. Thank you.

  5. I am very much so a beginner in the realm of blogging (or having anyone read my writing for that matter). I really love your positive vibe and your efforts in motivating others and staying motivated yourself! And I agree with you, there is absolutely no room for negativity here (or anywhere). Keep up the lovely attitude!

    • Hi there, so glad you felt such a positive vibe from reading. Love the name of blog, BTW — very nice. Great luck as you begin your blogging adventure and thanks so much for the lovely comment! :).

  6. Congrats on the Freshly Pressed, much deserved. Beautiful blog and important insight. And the quote about sharing light- I am definitely going to use that!

  7. I like your philosophy – it echoes my own. I’ve ‘met’ some lovely people in this blogging world – I’ve been blogging for 6 months and I’m loving the conversations and the finding out about other people’s lives – and the support that’s out there. All the best to you 🙂

  9. The more I read of your blog the more I like it so I hit the follow button. I am so glad you were freshly pressed otherwise I might never have found you. We seem to like a lot of the same things.

  10. I like how you have tried to set some boundaries for people commenting. I think one of the reasons I stay private with my blogging is I’m afraid of the negative, hurtful comments others may decide to write. I am going to change my “about” entry to include some boundaries of my own. Going to start following you, Brigette, I think I can learn a few things about this thing called “blogging”.

    • Hi Sydney, thank you. Took me a very long time to even consider blogging but it’s nice when people comment and say they’ve learned something or laughed about something I’ve said or maybe even given them an idea. Also, you don’t have to allow anything on your blog that you don’t want to. If there’s a hurtful comment, just don’t display it and ignore it. I think you’ll find the WordPress community/bloggers are great people from all kinds of places doing all sorts of great things. Good luck to you! :).

  15. Banter is a Glasgow word. “He’s got good banter.” Glasgow is in Scotland, by the way incase you didn’t know that. It’s called Glasgow Banter, we definitely covet this word and we have great banter in these parts because it is so cold, we have to have our humour.
Love your blog and your banter is pretty good.

    • I didn’t know that it was a Glasgow word but I did know where Glasgow was. ;). From the looks of your blog, I’ll have to agree that you do have great banter and I’ll take pretty good, that’s just fine 🙂 — thank you! And I hope you’ll visit again soon.

  20. A BIG thank you for the motivation. I’m a recent college grad and just quit a great internship opportunity to get the hell off of a computer (oops, wait, here again…) and give myself time to seek and genuinely discover my passions. Writing has always been one of them, and now, I find myself here. I’ve been hesitant of starting for ages now, but I’m glad I finally came on board =). Looking forward to read more of your stuff, Brigitte. All the best x

    • Hi Kelly and thank you for the follow! I’m so glad something I wrote struck a chord with you. A recent college grad, huh? Well, you’ve got the world wide open to you don’t you? I so hope you find your passion (and please remember to have fun while doing it) and kudos for you for quitting something that you knew wasn’t right for you. Most people don’t do that; the fact that you did means you’re already ahead of the game. Thank you so much and I look forward to reading more about you as well, K.
