Life is Good

I’ve been out of the blogging world for awhile.  I’m going through some changes, but life is good.

I’m just now getting to the point where I feel positive so now I’m writing again.  Life is good.

wandererI’m a nomad by heart so as much as I think I want to settle in one place, God/Universe listens to my meandering thoughts and it/she/he answers and we go.  I’ve done this since I’ve been 18 years old so I know that all is as it should be.

I’ve noticed something about myself….that when I get too comfortable, Life will step in and make sure I’m not too comfortable.  I love traveling and exploring.  I’ve moved around for over 30 years now, so I get that it’s part of the process.

Life is good.

I’ve been through some of those big life stressors over the past year.  I know this:  Whatever Life hands you, it’s solely up to you how you deal with it. You lick your wounds and you get on with things.  As long as you’re living and breathing and you’re in a country where you can do what you want, be who you want, celebrate whatever religion you are or are not, life is good.

Sometimes it seems as if life is chaotic.  Other times we think to ourselves how mundane or humdrum or boring it is.  It’s just life — with all it’s ups and downs.

But for the most part, life is good, isn’t it?  Whether I live here or there — through the good and bad, there I am.  I think someone said that once — Wherever you go, there you are.  Simple really, but so often we get caught up in what we think is the enormity of it and it seems overwhelming.

Wherever I live or go, I will find those like-minded people who believe in the goodness of humanity and things will work out exactly as they’re meant to.  It always does.

It’s not some overly-positive, Mary-sunshine kind of thing, it’s a state of mind and it just makes the most sense.  To me, anyway.

Life is good.

Thank you Margarita, Carly, Honie and Audra who helped inspire this post and thank you for writing me.

I plan to blog more in the future, maybe not as often as in the past few months, but I’m still here and when I can, I’ll visit you.  Life is good here.

And how are you??

Have a great weekend and enjoy some really good, fine tunes.http://s0.wp.com/i/support/content-unavailable.png

  4. Good to hear from you Brig. I know you’ve endured some rough times in the past year, so I have been wondering how you’ve been doing, but it’s not my style to invade someone’s space. Do I think that life is good? Well, I prefer it to the alternative, preferably with decent health and a discount pass to whatever I want to do. So yeah, I’ve been okay. I’ve been struggling to convert my just released worst seller to the Kindle edition. That’s a one way ticket to mind loss.

    • V, good to hear from you too. I love your style and I think I read at some point that you had a birthday. Happy belated birthday and you (like me) are a Taurus woman. We are a tough and tenacious sort (my b-day was just a few days after yours). Where is the book you speak of — tell me!!! And writing fiction is a one-way ticket to mind loss, that I will agree with you on. I agree with on a lot of things, actually. Thank you. xo

      Posted by Brigitte | May 17, 2013, 12:46 pm
      • Oh, that’s right, Brig. We are both Tauruses. Happy birthday back at you! I hope you had a great day. Milton and I saw “The Nance” on Broadway. I agree with you on a lot of things, too, but I’m (ahem) a scosh more jaded than you’ll ever be, even if you live to say, 117. Yes, I’ve finally unveiled my Manhattan Project, the DIY opus that I’ve been working on with my posse for the past seven months. Whenever you feel like it, just go to my site and you’ll see the badge with me as the human equivalent to a dangling participle.

    • J, I know….from one wanderer to another, you know what I mean. I’m the same and I too am a bit nuts, but I think that’s a good thing and it gets you through the toughest times. So good to see you here and thanks for taking the time to comment. xxoo

  11. Hi Brigitte, I couldn’t agree more. For too many reasons to list, I too have not been blogging as often as I felt I should. But I think I’m making progress – so your blog really resonated with me. Thank you.

  18. Before we emigrated someone said to me, you know, if you’re not happy here you wont be happy there, you have to take happiness with you to be happy. Erm, well, I am much happier here in Australia actually and a lot of my reasons for being unhappy were left behind in the grotty North of England town I’d felt trapped in for 35 years. I sort of understood their meaning but I’m a nomad too, I usually seek out change (the change that isn’t too unexpected and doesn’t have a sting in the tail at least), because I get bored very easily, but change that is out of our control isn’t always the easiest journey to ride through. My changes are usually long thought out and plotted and schemed on; the world is full of possibilities even if you have to wade through the unhappiness to find them 🙂

    Posted by wordswithnannaprawn | May 17, 2013, 8:40 pm
    • Hey my friend! I do understand what you mean. I’m so glad you’re happy! I’ve been a wanderer my whole life…that’s okay. I kind of dig it and I swear Life answers you when you least expect it. I kind of like being a nomad and then I met and married someone who was the same. We both left “home” when we were 18 and went here and there and then met, so life is good. I get bored easily too but then I find when I become too “bored,” Life will throw me a new challenge. So GOOD to hear from you!! Thank you. xo

      • So good to hear from you too! right back at ya!! I just got a one year anniversary prompt from WP so that means I’ve been reading your blog a year as well 🙂

  19. So glad you are back–I have been going through a little something something myself and have not been as aware as I should have been–but I missed you. I sincerely hope you are right that things will work out as they should–for both you and me.

  20. Brigitte! I’m so sorry I’m getting to this late. Actually I read it earlier today but didn’t have time to comment. I put my house back on the market — this week was very busy getting things ready. Again, I apologize. I’ve had you on my mind but have been in blogging and email paralysis! As you know I did link in with you and finally got to see the face behind the beautiful eyes. You are GORGEOUS – as I knew you would be.
I am in total agreement with your post. Life is good. I am the like minded person who believes in the goodness of humanity and knows that everything will work out in the end. Well said. Yes, we will always find each other. Birds of a feather flock together and all that…
I’m always excited when I get a notification for your blog. Glad your back and feeling good! Yay!!

  21. B – totally agree that how you choose to deal with life’s curveballs is the real mark of a person. Resilience can be be a hard lesson to learn.

      • Yeah I’ve been out of the blogging world for a bit due to a new job and a new routine. Will be trying to make use of the new more user-friendly WP app on Android to keep up though.

Hurray for technology! Now if only they made it easier to read comments I’m tracking on other blogs.

  23. Brigitte,
It is so good to see a post from you and to know that you’re okay. I have really been thinking of you and I was planning to send out an email to just make sure you were alright. Yes, life is good. I’ve been busy with photography – I’m going to a weekend workshop starting tomorrow and always busy with my P.T. practice. You have most definitely been missed!

    • Hi Cathy, I’ve missed you as well and though I’ve been out of touch lately I would get alerts when you posted so I did get to still enjoy your beautiful photography. So glad you’re exploring that more because you have such a gift for it. Thanks so much, my friend. xo

  24. Brigitte, you have been sorely missed. I actually planned on emailing you just to see if everything was okay until I realized I didn’t even know your contact info. Fail. But in any case, I’m glad you’re back again.
Life has a tendency to throw those really hard curveballs when we get a little too settled, doesn’t it? But like you said, it’s kind of just how things go and it’s up to us how we want to react and deal with it. I’m happy your life is good and I’m also happy my life is good as well. 🙂

  25. I agree with you Brigitte, I have been enjoying your posts for some time now, but have never been brave enough to comment. Things happen in your life and no matter how painful we just have to find a way forward. Always a writer, list maker and on and off diary keeper I think I’m going to take a leaf out of your book and finally start that blog. Thanks for the inspiration. You rock.

  35. I love the picture of the quote you posted here. It reminds me of the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ saying that people often quote to me: “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”
They always say it like it’s a bad thing; like I’m wandering aimlessly. When I think it’s exciting — roads could lead anywhere. I want to wander down every one and see where it leads.

Posted by Browsing the Atlas | June 13, 2013, 9:48 am
    • Hi J! Thank you. I love that Alice in Wonderland quote!! And you’re right, even those roads we wonder about “going down” can lead to some pretty fantastic things, huh? Thanks so much.
