A short post today to welcome some new followers — thank you for doing so and for taking the time to comment. I believe some found me from Maggie at Someone Fat Happened from her mentioning me on her Freshly-Pressed post — thank you, Maggie.
Then Jen from Jen and Tonic put one of my posts on her fan pages — thank you, Jen. Both of these women are hilarious and you should go visit them.
This blogging world is wonderful. I’ve made friends from everywhere, including those who ALWAYS read my ramblings, whether it’s noteworthy or not, and leave me comments: Grippy, Audra, Madame Weebles, Sandee, Margarita, Lis, Carrie, Lillian, Honie, JM, Lou Ann, Cathy, Ruta, Fish, Smak). We’ve been following each other for months now.
I’m sure I’ve acquired others from milling about on the above sites as well (please go visit them, they’re all funny and write all kinds of stuff, we’re all adults here) — thank you.
Then there’s Le Clown who as of late as been taking the Word Press world by storm, first becoming Freshly Pressed then being chosen to have an interview with the Word Press team at the Daily Post. He’s a kind-hearted person who’s doing something very cool in November — go visit him. His Haiku Sundays began when I answered this post with a haiku. He graciously let me become Master of Ceremonies and since then, he lets guest bloggers do the same every Sunday.
I know that’s a lot of links and I plan to do a post in the future with many, many more talented bloggers that I’ve only recently began following and them, me.
We may all have different viewpoints and different ways in which we express ourselves, but we all treat each other with respect. I love it and it’s weird how we all stumble across each other and I’ll see “you” here and there and we begin a conversation. Sometimes it’s of a serious nature or sometimes it’s just lighthearted nonsense, but thank you — all of you — for accepting me and treating me with respect. It says something about us all and reinforces my belief that we’re more alike that we think
On to other things
Totally off the subject here and I don’t normally talk about popular culture stuff, but I just saw the movie, Argo. Go see it. It’s Oscar-worthy. The writing and acting is excellent and I think Ben Affleck will probably receive honors for his acting and directing. It’s about a time in history when Canada helped America rescue hostages.
I love my Canadian sisters and brothers and I love them even more now. :). Which brings me to another subject:
Please go read my post today on Canadica — CLICK HERE.
Sweet Mother created this and it’s a blog where Canadians and Americans poke fun at each other. My post is all in fun and I hope you’ll find it entertaining.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends and thank you for reading.
Brigitte,
I was just over at Canadica reading your post, and then I got a notification from WordPress that you posted here, so I put on my clown shoes and made it this way, to see that you have kindly linked to my blog, but more importantly, that you mentioned Movember. So thank you. And yes, you were MC, but I think I owe you a spot as a guest blogger, because i want to. Would you do me the honour? We can work together on a thematic…
Le Clown
What can we collaborate on my friend? You better leave me an encouraging comment over at Canadica — I’m intimated by the writers over there.
You’re most welcome — about linking to your blog and Movember. Let me know how I can be of help!!
Brigitte,
Magnificent!! Yes! I will head over again on Canadica, as I couldn’t sleep with myself as a French Canadian without saying something about this… I’m heading out, but I will be back later on today with my comment. Thanks for saying yes to a Le Clown and Brigitte collaboration!
Le Clown
Sure, make me wait and after all the nice things I said about you. You mischievous clown, how you tease.
I found you through your comments to Madame Weebles and Le Clown. Nice to *meet* you.
Lorna
Welcome Lorna. Weebs is wonderful as is Le Clown. Nice to meet you too.
Hi Brigitte! Wow – thank you for the link to my blog – you’re so cool. I cannot wait to read Canadica this morning. I will also be checking out the other bloggers you mentioned (of the ones that I don’t already read). Haiku Sundays are great – thanks for starting it. Yup, that clown… you can’t turn sideways in the bloggosphere without running into him 🙂
Happy Tuesday ~
Hi Ruta — you’re welcome and thanks for always leaving me such nice comments. That clown guy IS everywhere. Am I crazy or isn’t it Wednesday?!! But anyhoo, happy Tuesday and happy Wednesday, if it’s Wednesday — is it?
Oh shite – you’re right…it IS Wednesday…Um…I was in a time warp….
I do the same thing, my friend. I thought I was going crazy for a minute there.
No, no, the crazy was on my side of the table this time around.
Birgitte I love your ramblings and I love my blogging family. I have “met” so many lovely talented people who make me laugh, cry and everything in between
Hi Judith, thank you!! I know, it’s pretty great, huh?
Double OMG
omgomg!
Read your post at Canadica.
Hope you likey.
Jumped the gun on my “reply” and replied to your other comment. Um, yeah, likey. here’s that reply…
Yes, of course it’s a good omg! You are so…..OMG! Brigitte, I swear when I grow up, I want to write just like you. clear, concise, thoughtful, funny, personal…are you sick of the complements yet? Your posts are great, (noteworthy or not? what does that mean?) OMG!
No, I’ll take all the compliments I can get because writers are notoriously insecure. You know that my dear, talented friend. I’m so glad you liked it. xo
I am honoured to be mentioned, and I would not miss your posts–they are well written, thoughtful with a sense of humour thrown in. Will check out some of the other bloggers you mentioned that I do not already follow. This is me going over the Canadica now……………
Lou Ann, thank you. I try my best to never miss yours as well. Yay! Hope you’ll enjoy it over there.
I did–very much–but you can read my long-winded comment there.
From one long-winded writer to another, it’s much appreciated. ;).
;0
Can’t remember how I first found you, think it was someone fat ha ha ha… Love that goose up the top of this post 🙂
Thank you and so glad you found me and I have to go visit you soon — promise I will! Maggie is funny and ferocious (in a good way) isn’t she? Thanks for your nice comment.
Yes Maggie is great (and I love her blog name 🙂 ) – no rush to check out mine..we all end up where we’re meant to I’m sure…
I just finished reading your Canadica post and I thought it was amazing! Excellent work, Brig.
Hey, lady, thanks for the shout out. I feel so honored to be in that group of very fine women. You’ve got quite a comfy place here. It’s the equivalent of a cozy living room with over stuffed couches, cool music playing in the background, coffee a plenty, and friends gathered round to discuss thoughts and feelings. It’s ALWAYS inviting, safe and warm at your place and I love hanging out here. I think that sums it up. 🙂
Have a Beautiful Day!!
Grippy xoxo
I agree with Grippy. Comfy, cozy…um, I could use some more coffee when you get a minute Brigitte Dear…:)
and I like that very fine women remark there Grippy 😛 NICE!
Why thank you, Honie. I take mine with cream — you? Thanks, my friend.
Thanks, Honie! I think my coffee is getting low, too. haha! Fine and funny women, indeed.
Cheers!
Grippy — thank you! It’s kind of intimidating because there’s many great writers over there so you’re saying that means alot — thank you. Also my blog being described the way you’ve so eloquently (as you always do) described, well that’s exactly what I want. I love hanging out at your place too. You have a beautiful day, my Sister. ;). xxoo
Hey, I never asked if those were your eyes in your header? If they are, then they’re smokin’ hot hypnotic eyes!. Just sayin’.
Yes, they are my eyes and thank you, lovely woman.
OMG! You’re a beauty queen!
Uh, no. I’m old. But thank you. My eyes are my best feature. You’re so nice.
Next to my wrinkled eyes you look like a teenager. And so ends our discussion of Brigitte’s smokin’ hot eyes. (I get the last word.) Now I’ll take some more coffee. ha!
nope my place, i get the last word.
nanny nanny boo boo. ;). hahahahaha
hahah!
hahahahahahaha. And ha. And btw, black and white is great at hiding things — aren’t didn’t you know that?
You go, Superstar!!! Love the duck, by the way. Viaduct? I don’t know. Vy Not?
Why thank you, Sue. Again, glad to have you back again. Now stroll over to Canadica…. :).

Lovely post, and thank you for the mention. 🙂
Why thank you, Carrie.
I love the blogging circle we all participate in. It makes my day to see everyone on everyone else’s pages and especially when blog friends get recognized for their writing talents :).
I know Becca and you and I just recently found one another. You’re funny with that edge thing and I love that. Thank you for stopping by here and hope you’ll go over to Canadica when you have a moment.
One step ahead of you ;).
Great post as always. I will have to check out Canadica now too as I am an American living in Canada! Huh, puts one foot in US and one foot in Canada! I am both! Probably just makes me weird. ha!
Hi Jackie, thank you and there’s all sorts of writers over there so I think you’ll enjoy it, you being both! If nice, kind and a great blogger is weird (like you are) then it’s good to be weird. ;).
Well thank you so much Brigitte! I like being weird. Gets me places. hehe
me too. :).
Thanks B! I will go look at Canadica. I love our community of friends and writers. xoxox
Welcome.’ Thanks, Mags — appreciate your taking the time to read my post over at Canadica. xoxo

Only if you want to, Lynne — hope you enjoy and thank you! xxoo
Of course I do.. heading home from the office and will read soon as I’m in my comfy clothes 🙂
I loved your Canuckida post about your shocking mixed-race marriage. Thanks also for saying kind things about me and including me in such esteemed company. That’s awful sweet.
I’m not surprised that you picked up more readers. Your posts are entertaining, and I think have a very broad appeal (chickie, but not too chickie, y’know?), and always something to say.
Smak, thanks, glad to be of service and to serve. You’re most welcome — you always take the time to comment even when my posts are kind of sucky. Thanks again for your kind comments and glad I have a broad appeal — that’s a good thing.
Your new followers will be glad they followed 🙂 I am…
You hold a special place in the ‘sphere.
Thanks for the shout-out Brigitte — sending hugs!
Ah, Sandee — you too good to me, woman — thank you so much. hugs back at ya.
Going’ to Canadica right now —

Just got back from La Canadica. Two awesome posts in one day! Twin killing from the Queen. AND you once again gave me a shout out. I am not quite sure what I did to get into this fabulous circle o’ excellence but I am so very grateful. I pretty much agree with everything that is being said here. I truly look forward to joining along for my daily discourse in the living room of the Brilliant Banterland and Associates.
Thank you– really and truly. I dig you ..
Audra

At least I do have that going for me. ;). Thank you.
Yo, it’s what I do. Of course, I gave you a shout-out — you’re one of my favs, woman. You’re always welcome and I really and truly dig ya too. xxoo
Thanks so much for the shout out. 🙂 I’m so glad you found your way to my blog because that gave me the chance to find yours. And I enjoy it greatly. Also, you did Canadica proud today!
Hi Jm, you’ re most welcome. Glad we found each other too. Your nice comments mean so much — and thanks for saying that about Canadica — it was fun.
Hi Brigitte. I enjoy these kinds of posts where people kind of take a time out to connect. I met you and some of the ones you mentioned in this post from Le Clown, that clowny clown. I’ve enjoyed meeting so many great people, you included. I’ll go read Canadica now!
Hi Bumble — thank you. So nice to meet you too! I really enjoyed your post yesterday about the things your kids say — it was warm and funny — two things I love in a post.
What a beautiful community created here on WordPress. I so appreciate your take on things and the encouragement that you’ve brought to me personally. I think you’re pretty write-on. 😉
Hi D, yes it is, isn’t it? Thank you for stopping by and I love your inspiring posts as well. xxoo
(smiling) Thanks Brigitte. 🙂
I have to admit, in the beginning I was intimidated by your flawless writing and your huge following. I was sure little ole me was just going to be a blip in the charts but then you responded back to me and (gasp!) started following and (double gasp!) actually interacting with me. It’s been such a pleasure and I always look forward to your posts and comments. Thank you for the shoutout, it means so much to even be mentioned among so many other fabulous (and equally intimidating) bloggers. And now I’m heading over to Canadica right NOW!
Oh wow, L, flawless writing — really?!! But thank you for that great compliment and I’m glad we’re following each other too! You always take to time to comment — and that’s so appreciated. You know that feeling, huh? :).
Hey hey! That’s me in the third row, fourth duck in! Yay! But dang it, I think my my eyes were closed.
You keep some mighty fine company- I’m happy to know many (Ruta being the first), but will check out those unfamiliar to me, so thank-you!
You have something special about you, and I am so happy our paths crossed! ~ Christy
Christy, WELCOME! I do have some great blogger friends from everywhere and every kind of writing. Ruta is great and you’re welcome. I think I found you on her blog if I’m not mistaken. What a nice thing to say, Christy — and you’re saying means so mouth — I’m glad they crossed too! — Brigitte
Brig,
Somehow I didn’t get notification about this post until this morning. Have to go check my settings… THANK YOU for the shout out! I’m truly honored. I will go see Argo, thanks for the tip. And I so love the pics on your posts. Where do you find all these great shots? Many make me giggle – the geese are so fun.
Have a great day, my friend! I so love the WordPress community.
Cathy
You’re most welcome, Cathy. Your pics and poems and posts always make me feel good. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Hello there, I just came over here via the Someone Fat Happened Freshly Pressed post and read your guide to benevolent blogging. Wonderful post. Now I have to check out all the links you put out there to find more great people 🙂 Cheers, Lisa
Hi Lisa — thank and glad you found me via Maggie. So glad you enjoyed the post! Cheers!!
You’re right, the blogging world IS wonderful 🙂
But I don’t know how you keep up with all these comments lol 😉
Xx
Thanks Vikki — you are a part of that world and you and I have been following each other for a long time now. Don’t know how you do either but it’s fun trying, huh? Thank you, friend.
We have indeed honey 🙂
And yes, it sure is fun, why else would we try 😉
Xx
I’m so behind on reading everyone’s posts, Brigitte, sorry!! Thank you so much for the mention! You’re the bees’ knees, for so many reasons. And thanks for the recommendation of Argo–I’m not a Ben Affleck fan at all but it does look interesting. Also, your Canadica post was great!
Well you must be busy and busy is a good thing, right? You’re welcome, Weebs and thank you for saying that. It’s really a great movie and done very well. I don’t mind Affleck and he doesn’t look like Affleck in this. Take care my friend and have a great weekend. xxoo
