I’m not very good at brevity as anyone who follows my blog knows, but it is a virture from what I’ve heard.
Sometimes the best things in life don’t require a long, flowery description. Sometimes, the best moments, alone and shared are when you don’t say a word. Or write one or type one.
Now before I negate the whole point of this brevity musing/post, I’m leaving you with some random pics and a song to listen to while you’re looking:

What are some of your best “brief” moments?

nice ~

Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 10:56 amThere is a swatch of gorgeous tree-lined hills I pass by when I take a certain interstate near us. Trees as far as the eyes can see on either side. The view is always lovely, but in the fall, it’s breathtaking. It’s a very brief view–only seen when the interstate takes a short curve, but it fills me with awe every time I see it. Brevity at its best. 🙂
Love your photos!
Posted by Carrie Rubin | September 30, 2013, 11:06 amYou know Carrie, it’s usually nature that leaves us speechless. Thank you and Happy Monday.
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 11:08 amAnd yet I seem to spend so much time indoors. Guess it’s a writing thing. I don’t take advantage of the beauty around me much. It’s a shame, really.
Posted by Carrie Rubin | September 30, 2013, 11:13 amIt IS the writing thing tho’ hubby and I took a bike ride to the grocery store yesterday. I try to bike when I can. Weather was perfect. We’re walking the bridge today. That’s it. We’re doing it. 🙂
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 11:15 amGood for you. If it wasn’t cloudy and threatening rain here, I’d do the same. Maybe. 😉
Posted by Carrie Rubin | September 30, 2013, 11:21 amIt usually is those briefest of statements (whether literary or in nature) that make the most impact. I have to learn this as well with my writing.
Posted by Charissa | September 30, 2013, 12:41 pmI know exactly what you mean, Char. Thank you!
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 12:56 pmBeauties! T. (Thanks for the break!)
Posted by Theadora Brack | September 30, 2013, 12:48 pmT, thank you! And you’re welcome. 🙂
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 1:03 pmI know a thing or two about brevity(smile) and Often get myself in trouble because of it.
I just took a nice long long drive through the winding northwest hills of CT… stopped and walked in the woods. Solitude, rainbow of colors and quiet– lovely and much needed. Enjoyed your wonderful photographs. And thanks again Brigitte. I do appreciate YOU very much. I gots me some good peeps in WP world.
Posted by unfetteredbs | September 30, 2013, 12:54 pmYes, you do and you do it so well. I bet it is GORGEOUS there. We’ve been to Mystic at that magical time in the Northeast. It is spectacular. Thank you my friend and I appreciate you as well — we go wayyyyy back. You’re the best, Audra.
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 1:04 pmIt is magical. However that will only be for two more weeks then Id like to come to your neck of the woods 🙂
Posted by unfetteredbs | September 30, 2013, 1:36 pmI tell you, A, I’m not going to miss those long winters. Nope. And you’re welcome to my neck of the woods anytime. Today, it’s sunny, 70s and no humidity! It’s coming up on the perfect time of year here.
Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 1:38 pmMy brevity moment right now: London. Enough said.
The photos are fantastic. Sometimes pictures really are worth more words than we can hope to string together, aren’t they? Wishing you a good rest of the week. 🙂
Posted by lillianccc | September 30, 2013, 4:36 pmOh Lillian, that sounds wonderful. I can’t wait to read more about London. You have a great week too!

Posted by Curt Mekemson | September 30, 2013, 7:11 pmCurt, that is soooo nice. And some pretty awesome-sounding “brief” moments. Thank you.

Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 9:02 pmIt was sunny and in the 70s over here, too, today, Brig … But that will change in the weeks ahead. Lovely images!
Posted by lameadventures | September 30, 2013, 8:32 pmV, I love 60s and 70s — that’s perfect to me. And 50s at night. Perfect. Maybe you guys won’t have that early winter. Take care, my friend.

Posted by Brigitte | September 30, 2013, 9:03 pmHi Brig,
I loved the photos! The bocce balls were really fun, nice reflection in them of a hazy sun and soft shadows! I think my blog is mostly brief, these days…but seriously, being in nature is my favorite place to be quiet and not talk. Peter and I will hike for several miles without saying a word – and it’s a great partnership!
Posted by Cathy Ulrich | September 30, 2013, 11:11 pmHi Cathy, thank you! I love the bocce ball pic too! That’s was taken on Isle of Palms, SC. Isn’t that nice — being with someone where silence is comfortable?
Posted by Brigitte | October 1, 2013, 8:53 amIt certainly is.
Posted by Cathy Ulrich | October 1, 2013, 9:04 amin my job I sometimes write something called “Council briefs” and when it shows up in the newspaper I always smile–it is my own private joke–sometimes I call them “Council shorts” — it does not take much to entertain me
your photos were absolutely beautiful
Posted by on thehomefrontandbeyond | October 1, 2013, 4:48 amHey Lou! Glad to see you around these parts!! Council briefs…umm, do you picture the officials in their underwear? Glad you enjoyed. :).
Posted by Brigitte | October 1, 2013, 8:54 amugh–that would be horrific except in one case
Posted by on thehomefrontandbeyond | October 1, 2013, 10:01 amHA!! Well, while you’re listening (or not) you can picture that one in his council “briefs.”
Posted by Brigitte | October 1, 2013, 10:45 aminstead of doodling? — maybe…….ha ha
Posted by on thehomefrontandbeyond | October 1, 2013, 9:05 pmSometimes simple is sublime. Lovely photos, Brigitte, and I hope you’re taking some time to enjoy those simple moments.
Posted by jmmcdowell | October 1, 2013, 2:16 pmThank you, JM. I am doing just that and hope you do too. Good thing you visited that museum when you did, huh? I can’t even talk about it. Jeez.
